Overview
We were approached by a sports club that we had assisted in the past concerning one of their electricity meters, which had been disconnected after part of their facilities temporarily closed.
With a new court set to reopen, the sports club needed the meter reconnected and asked for our help to make it happen smoothly.
Challenges
The main challenge was to get the electricity supply reconnected in time for the reopening. This meant checking the current status of the meter, speaking to the right people, and making sure everything was done quickly and cost-effectively.
Our Strategy
We started by contacting the energy supplier responsible for the meter. Our first step was to confirm the account details and find out whether the supply was still live or if the meter had been capped. Since the supplier couldn’t give us a clear answer, we took things further.
We reached out to the Distribution Network Operator (DNO), who confirmed that the supply was still active and the meter hadn’t been capped. With this confirmation, we got back in touch with the supplier to begin the process of reinstating the meter.
To keep everything moving smoothly, we worked closely with the sports club and the supplier to arrange a joint site visit. This made sure that all the right people were on hand to deal with any technical issues and avoid delays. Once the sports club agreed to a time and cost, we scheduled the reconnection and shared all the necessary information with the Meter Operator responsible for the work.
To help the sports club avoid any unexpected costs later, we also prepared a range of fixed-rate contract quotes for them to choose from. This meant their new supply would be under contract from day one of the court reopening.
The Results
By keeping in close contact with the supplier and the DNO, we managed the reconnection process quickly and effectively. Our collaborative approach ensured everything was ready on time for the new court’s launch. We also gave the sports club confidence by providing fixed-rate contract options up front, helping them manage their costs from the beginning.
